Probably in your case the needle and seat in the carb is a little gummed up and not fully sealing. When it sits a while the bowl overfills and fuel makes it's way to the cylinder where it squeaks past the rings into your oil.

Another guys engine that ran most of the season was almost ready to chew through the stem and drop a valve. The Predator's pull strong in stock configuration, and using a ~5000 ish RPM limit set by tweaking the governor linkage and checking the maximum RPM post race would be ideal with the intent of the class and the stock flywheel.
Please understand that the cam and the crank are not the same size (dont rotate at the same rate) 2) there is no rev limit on the magneto that i am aware of for these engines. 3) your torque converter causes parasitic drag. The torque converter might be preventing the engine from revving higher.
